Trip Highlights
A remote coastal hike with unspoiled beaches, few hikers, an
interesting history, and a fabulous assortment of mammal, bird and
marine wildlife.
A spirit of adventure is mandatory as its
location is a mystery. We can tell you that a float plane and/or water
taxi is the only means of accessing this stretch of coast, that there
is a visit to a remote lighthouse, and a special stop at an unique
oasis at the end of our hike. If this isn't tantalizing enough, and you
need to know more, then consider one of our other expeditions.
This
stretch of British Columbia coast is not so well known. It's nice to
have a place where we can go and still be alone. We can hope to
minimize the environmental impact on this area for as long as we can.
This trek, on Vancouver Island's rugged west coast, promises and delivers a great wilderness experience.
ITINERARY Day 0: Arrival in Vancouver.
Day 1: We will meet at the Tsawwasen Ferry Terminal for our sailing to Vancouver Island.
Day 2-7:
Our hike will be determined by a number of factors. Trails, as such, do
not exist. Our goal is to take advantage of low tides and hike the
shelf and beaches as much as possible.
Day 8: Return to Vancouver. That's all we'll tell you.
